Volunteers Youthful vigor combines with mature experience for our volunteer teams. Whether 17 or 77 years of age, all those who have a compassion for people in need can make a valuable contribution through a variety of challenging projects. Possibilities Opportunities abound for individuals and groups who have a team spirit, a willingness to leave their comfort zone and a desire to travel to new and exotic places, all in the spirit of adventure and service. Participation Peace and Hope Trust can use you, your church members, your co-workers and your friends to improve the lives of so many impoverished Nicaraguans. Projects Activities vary from teaching children, distributing medicine, building homes and improving infrastructure to partnering with local churches/organizations and participating in domestic tasks. Planning Ahead Peace and Hope Trust typically utilizes teams and individuals in the following months: January, March, June, July, and October. While volunteer service generally comprises 2-4 weeks, we are always looking for long-term volunteers who wish to stay 3-6 months to help with the management of our facilities and ongoing projects. We provide excellent internship opportunities for those studying in relevant disciplines such as International Development, International Relations, Medicine, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Missions and so on. Peace and Hope Trust is committed to using donor support for the funding of projects and local staff. Therefore, volunteers raise their own support through friends, family and co-workers to finance their trip. This has proven to be an effective way of promoting the work and defraying the expenses associated with the trip. Expenses include such things as meals, supplies, room and board, domestic transportation, international airfare and so forth.
